Hagerstown, MD – On April 28, Senator Roger Manno participated in two memorial services in recognition of Workers Memorial Day.
The services, one in Cumberland and one Hagerstown, honored both fallen workers and their families who have sacrificed their lives, safety or health while doing some of our most difficult jobs. In addition to Roger, speakers also included remarks from labor leaders and elected officials at the local, State and federal levels, including Congressman John Delaney, Maryland AFL-CIO President Donna Edwards, Central Maryland AFL-CIO Council President Chip Cook, Western Maryland AFL-CIO President George Koontz, among others.
“We owe an enormous debt to our workers, who built this country, and who keep it moving forward every day,” stated Roger. “That’s why we are here today, and I am humbled and honored to join you today on behalf of a grateful State.”
